Guillotine 03:05
Oh, I once had a woman, but they took her to the guillotine. You know, I once had a woman, but they took her to the guillotine. I didn't know an open mind could have my woman taken away from me. You'd better watch what you're sayin', or they'll throw you in a bag. Watch what you're sayin', or they'll throw you in a bag... And if you think that's bad enough, well they can hear the thoughts that are runnin' through your head. Runnin' through your head! I once had a family, a life of my own. Now, I ain't got nothin' left... I'm soon to be dead and gone. I wanna' leave, but I ain't got nowhere to run. Of course, I'd tell somebody, but all my friends are gone... Because they killed 'em all! "I'm gonna' take everything lightly", that's what the sheep had to say. "I'm gonna' take everything lightly", that's what the sheep had to say. Oh, but that sheep's wool was black, so they tossed him in the oven yesterday. You know, that sheep's wool was black, so they tossed him in the oven yesterday.

about

In its infancy, The Dead Gear was fortunate enough to perform alongside several very talented groups and individuals. All of whom were incredibly unique and dynamic, but perhaps none more so than a young razor-sharp folk duo by the names of Dakota & The Black River Bandit. With wit and wisdom in spades, these two continually inspired and encouraged the Gear's pursuits before eventually disbanding to pursue individual achievements of their own.

"Guillotine" is a favorite amongst fans fortunate enough to witness Dakota & The Bandit in their prime and in tribute to the duo's companionship and generosity, the Gear began performing the song live during early set lists. Only recently recorded, that arrangement is now available for those who may wish to step back in time to those heavy desert nights and catch a remote glimpse of the excitement each band brought to the stage.
